Activities
-Color! I bought my first adult coloring book, which is Christmas-themed and has beautiful, super detailed illustrations. Don’t forget the markers or colored pencils!
-Yoga! This gal on YouTube is very popular and has tons of doable yoga videos, like this one on calming your nerves.
-Zumba! My favorite zumba studio, Bodies by Wade, offers virtual classes.
-Cook! Last night I made this amazing slow cooker bacon-wrapped chicken. I also recommend these cranberry brie bites that I made for Thanksgiving.
-Take a Master Class!
-Read! A few books I read recently and highly recommend are Three Women by Lisa Taddeo, Five Men Who Broke My Heart by Susan Shapiro, and This Will Only Hurt a Little by Busy Phillips.
-Make wintery drinks! I’m thinking hot toddy, rice pudding martini, warm Witch’s Brew, and crock pot hot chocolate.
-Zoom happy hour! Check out some of the fun Christmas games on Happier Homestead you can play with friends and family over Zoom, like this Elf drinking game.
-Redecorate a room! The Good Abode offers these “Quickie” sessions with professional, personalized design tips for a room in your home. I did it for my living room and got a ton of awesome ideas.
-Start journaling! Get yourself a fun new journal and go to town. Check out Somewhere Slower’s newsletter for some writing (and mindfulness) inspiration and guidance.
-Support small businesses! A couple of my favorites for Christmas gifts are Rebel Reclaimed in Grand Rapids and Bohemian Home in Plymouth.
-Take a walk!
-Check out Northville’s Heat in the Street! Heated, open-air pods so people can visit Northville businesses.
